 Pagoda Tea
|
Laura Peery's work is inspired by memories of her grandmother's New Orleans dress shop. She spent hours in the attic where the alterations were made, playing with scraps of fabric, threads, hooks and eyes, and scissors. To create her whimsical teapots and sculptures, Laura impresses fabrics into the clay to mimic the look of lace and canvas. Porcelain clay is the perfect medium for these decidedly feminine works, because of its ability to replicate the texture of delicate patterns.
